:: Monday, April 29, 2002 :: Punjabi Corner (part 2 of Mr.Shepards Interview)
"Welcome back Mr.Shepard. Thank You for doing this interview again. Sat sri akal." "Sat sri akal ji." "Well, lets pick up where we left of shall we? We were talking about the Americanization of bollywood. Do you feel that the Americanization of bollywood is nessacary?" "Well, if it makes a profit then go ahead why not?" "Well from seen in movies this year, Lagaan which was a traditional film prevailed to be very successful as compared to Yaadein which was very Americanized that wasnt very exepted by the audience. So realy, the profit isnt being made by Americanized films." "Thats not entirly true. If you look at K3G which made alot of profit and that was americanized. Yaadein didnt do well becuse of the poor story line and script. It had nothing to do with the modern identity. Lagaan was a blockbuster because it had everything that a movie fan never saw before. It was a new story which had all new ingeredients in it. If a film fails to click with the crowd........it has alot to do with the script." "Well, that about wraps it up for this interview. Thank you agian Mr.Shepard." "Again it was a pleasure being here and it like to do it again in the future." "We look forward to it." "Sat sri akal." "Sat sri akal."
